You are indeed right but there is an ELP version.

There also a good Youtube video of Greg Lake and Ian Anderson performing this often perceived anti Christmas song in St Brides Church Fleet Street about six years ago.

Hark the Herald Angels sing has a good harmonic progression.

On the other hand the fucking Slade Christmas Song is the worst piece of shit ever. I feel homicidal whenever I hear it.
